    If you used a large oak wine barrel cut in half,(planter) and stuck the driver in the closed end, laying on their side, would they still be an open baffel?

    I ment with the open end facing the wall and the top of the barrel with the speaker mounted in it facing you.

    Stuff the back of the barrel with UltraTouch cotton insulation and you've got yourself a nice cardioid. It works great.
